The award was presented at the glittering live Grand Final, at the Londoner Hotel in London, on Friday 21 October, after winning the regional round in May.

Broughton House is the only home for ex-servicemen and women in the North West and has seen operational service for more than 100 years.

As the facility was no longer fit for purpose, the Broughton House Charity felt it was time to make way for a new home that would provide a wider range of accommodation, services, support and rehabilitation for the Veterans and their families.

We were delighted to work alongside the Charity in developing the interior design for the new Veterans Care Village. The prestigious development includes a care home for 65 residents, where accommodation is arranged in households, incorporating specialist dementia and nursing units, with shared ancillary spaces and an outpatient’s community hub.

The interior design concept was based around subtle references to both the military and industrial heritage of the local area, with reference to this in the materials and textures chosen. The contemporary design style was complemented with homely accessories and a high-quality finish throughout.

The strength of the Broughton House identity is carried through internally, ensuring a bespoke solution and real ‘sense of place’.
