The cardiac services development extends cardiology provision at Wythenshawe Hospital whilst providing a much needed improvement to the existing cardiac facilities. The 5000 sq m two storey cardiac centre provides state-of-the-art facilities including new outpatient facilities, a cardiac investigations department, information facilities, 26 critical care beds, staff facilities and support rooms. There is also a new cardiac MRI scanner as part of the scheme which was designed to integrate with the new outpatient facilities.
Gilling Dod were initally appointed by the trust at lead consultant and were later appointed as project architects by the successful PSCP. We also provided full interior design services and landscape design. The Cardiac Centre was officially opened on the 12th May 2008 by HRH Princess Anne.
